All Tight Fit Fabrication i88 harnesses are made with DERAY V25 heat shrink, 20-gauge American made primary TXL wiring, and OEM style connectors that mate to the OEM body harness. These harnesses were made to work with Legacy's and Outback's built in the USA and Canada only.
2005-2009 Legacy and Outback i88 wiring harnesses are labeled for:
- Illumination Positive (+) = Orange
- Illumination Negative / Dimmer (-) = Orange/White or Tan
- +12V Accessory = Red

Customers who also order the i88 adapter and 14 pin stereo adapter for your new aftermarket car stereo will receive a harness that's plug an play for the JDM Dual Zone Climate Control. The only thing needed will be for the customer to wire in their new car stereo.
The idea with Tight Fit Fabrication's 2005-2009 Subaru Legacy GT / Outback i88 Wiring Harnesses is to have people avoid cutting up their original harness and ensuring that their experience with their new JDM Double Din is made easier.

***ON MY STEREO ADAPTER THE ADDITIONAL NEGATIVE ORANGE/WHITE ILLUMINATION WIRE DOESN'T NEED TO BE GROUNDED OR WIRED TO ANYTHING. UNLESS YOU NEED IT TO WIRE IN AN AFTERMARKET GAUGE OR YOUR CLIMATE CONTROL ISN'T ILLUMINATING. PRIOR TO GROUNDING THIS WIRE PLEASE MAKE SURE THERE IS A CORRESPONDING WIRE ON THE CHASSIS SIDE CONNECTOR. IF THERE IS NO CORRESPONDING WIRE ON THE CHASSIS SIDE THEN YOU WILL NEED TO GROUND THIS WIRE. CUSTOMERS HAVE REPORTED BACK THAT THEIR LEGACY DID NOT HAVE THE NEGATIVE ILLUMINATION WIRE ON THE CHASSIS SIDE. WHEN WIRING YOUR NEW CAR STEREO ILLUMINATION WIRE (NORMALLY ORANGE/WHITE) DO NOT COMBINE SOLID ORANGE WIRE AND ORANGE/WHITE WIRE TO YOUR NEW STEREO’S ILLUMINATION WIRE. THESE WIRES ON THE STEREO ADAPTER ARE POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE AND MAY DAMAGE YOUR COMPONENTS WHEN COMBINED. I WOULD RECOMMEND WIRING THE SOLID ORANGE WIRE TO YOUR NEW STEREOS ILLUMINATION WIRE.***

i88 Harness
Top marks! Ordered this harness for my 2005 Subaru Outback XT Limited, so I could use a JDM Double DIN stereo bezel and HVAC control. Raul was super helpful, with quick and thorough communication. The harness arrived in a very timely fashion even though I'm in Canada. More importantly, this harness is a great buy! Made from quality materials, and looks professionally manufactured. The "Tight Fit" tag heat-shrunk into the middle is a very nice touch, and lets you know that you're getting good gear. Of course, it was plug and play, and worked flawlessly. I highly recommend this. Before I found Tight Fit, I contacted another supplier of a "similar" harness, based on a recommendation I recieved. Here we are weeks later, and I haven't even gotten a response from them. Product was exactly as described and worked perfectly when installing with AVO JDM Dual Zone AV Panel Set (H6217AG911) in 2006 Legacy GT. 2005-9 Subaru Legacy I88 plus Illum Wire Adapter
Raul was terrific to deal with, quick to respond by email (unlike some of the other popular places Subie sites recommend) and explained patiently while I asked a tonne of questions beforehand. I received an excellent quality item and received it in much shorter time than had expected. And I know if something isn't right, he'll prioritize a fix or replacement without issue.
